At least that's what the box said: "Blow as you Mow". Great hook, but no ringer!
We went to ToysRUs on Friday to pick out a birthday present for a friend, and of course, left with a present for Tyler as well. It happens every time! This time, he picked out a lawnmower that blows bubbles as you push it. Only problem is.....it doesn't blow bubbles!!! Out of a whole jar of bubbles, we were able to make it blow 2 bubbles. How disappointing! (to me anyway). Tyler could have cared less. While he did keep repeating "bubble" over and over again, he was just as happy pushing it around the yard as if he were actually mowing. Soon, the idea of it blowing bubbles was gone and the "yard work" took over as the entertainment.
Sunday came and it was time to really mow the lawn. As suspected, I had a shadow while I was mowing. David eventually took over the duty of mowing (I enjoy mowing the lawn, but I think David had a bit of guilt watching his pregnant wife doing it. I usually do it while he's at work) and the race was on. Tyler tried to out-mow Daddy as they made each pass. It was so cute! David did capture a lot of the mowing on video, but it was too long to upload. It will be so cute to watch one day when the kids are older and we can show each of them how they played a role in mowing grass; Tyler with his toy mower and Riley in Mommy's belly. I also suspect that Tyler will one day enjoy actually taking over the task of mowing the lawn for real.
Although we didn't get much mowin' & blowin' out of the new toy, Tyler still loves it and we love the memories that it brings. And so it goes...
