Chomp, Chomp, Chomp....

As you already know, Tyler cut his first two teeth about a month ago. So what better to do than to put them to use, right? That's exactly what I did. I gave him a carrot and let him go to town. It's the same concept as the cookie, minus the horrendous mess afterwards. It was so cute to watch him nibble away at the carrot and even more intriguing to see the little bite marks in it when it was all said and done. What's next, steak??? Not so fast! And so it goes...

Ladies & Gentlemen, We Have Lift-Off

Just as I was ready to enjoy my coffee Friday morning after gathering some things for our trip to Lake Wales, it dawned on me...."I'm not the only one in this room!?!"
Tyler was in his bedroom, playing with his toys on the floor one minute and in the Dining Room, which is adjacent to his bedroom, the next minute. Of course, I knew how he got there, but REALLY??? We were out and about for the remainder of the day until we left for Lake Wales, so he wasn't able to prove himself to me, but not to worry, Saturday was an entirely new day.

I awoke early Saturday morning to get ready for our day at the Bok Sanctuary for my Birthday. Just as I was about to get into the shower, Tyler peeped his little head up over his crib and motioned his typical crazy-man arm fluttering followed by "da-da-da", which to us translates into "Good Morning". David put him on the floor in our room to play with some toys and I proceeded to take a shower. Wouldn't you know, when I came out of the bathroom, Tyler was on the complete opposite side of our bedroom! David didn't have to say a word, the look on his face told me what I had already suspected. Our little man was now mobile, crawling!

I wasn't able to get footage of him on his actual first day of crawling because we were trying to get out the door, but this video is from only a few days later. I figured I would give him a chance to get his practice in before his big debut. He's still a tad wobbly, so it's quite humorous to watch. He occasionally loses his "footing" which results in a face plant, only for him to get back up and continue on. He's super curious about everything, as you will see he made his way to the dog bed to inspect it, so this is going to be loads of fun for Mommy & Daddy. Baby-proofing will be our new hobby. And yet again, we can't believe we are at this stage already! And so it goes...

A Belly Full of Laughter

There's no story behind this post. It's simply just a video for all to watch and enjoy! It's makes me smile every time I watch it, so I thought I would pass that smile on! And so it goes...

Eight Month Milestones

Height: 29 1/2"
Weight: 20lbs 4oz

Places Traveled: This month we took a trip to Inverness, Tyler's second visit there, for the annual 75 Chrome Shop Truck Show. We also went to Lake Wales for a weekend of R&R!

Accomplishments: There were many this month. First and foremost, Tyler was Baptised on April 18. He got his first teeth, yes teeth, on April 24. He gets up on his hands and knees and does the rocking motion (building those crawling muscles), which leads us to believe, as Mimi would say, he's "one hour from crawling" [I'm thinking she's right]. Tyler has also tried all of the stage 1 fruits and veggies from Gerber, along with oatmeal and rice cereal. He'll be on to bigger and better things very soon, once more of his little chompers come in. Lastly, Tyler conquered both airboating and ocean-boating during this month. He enjoyed every minute of each of them!

New Babbles: No new actual babbles this month. One thing he is getting good at though, is his fake laugh. I'm afraid to say it, but he may be the male version of a drama queen. He'll mimic you if you laugh, from time to time. He's too much!

Dear Mr. Tooth Fairy:

For some, it's "all they want for Christmas". For Tyler, it's what he got for his 8 month birthday! Not one, but two! Two front teeth! Can you believe it, because I couldn't?!
It was Friday, May 1, 2009. I fed Tyler lunch around 12:30pm. I'd been monitoring his front lower gum on a daily basis, since it had been swollen and he had what appeared to be a tooth trying to pry it's way in for a few weeks. Upon feeding him lunch, I checked for any signs of a tooth and there were none. The day went on and once David got home from work, we headed up to Lake Wales for the weekend. Tyler napped for a short part of the trip and when he awoke, I jumped in the back to feed him his dinner. As soon as Tyler eyed his bowl and spoon, the smile on his face revealed his new assets! Low and behold, there they were! Sometime between lunch and his afternoon nap, our little man got his first teeth. Incredible! My heart dropped and I wanted to cry when I saw them. At first I didn't believe it, but when I ran my finger across his gum, I had confirmation. I kept repeating myself to David, "Oh My God, he has teeth, Oh My God!" For the first time, I truly felt like my little infant was well on his way to being a toddler. As for Mr. Tyler, well he just thinks they're a new toy. He's constantly chewing on his bottom lip and swiping his tongue across them! It's funny to think of what he is going to look like without that big gummy smile! I guess we'll soon find out! And so it goes...
